Alright, I will assume that everyone read the warning after clicking on the link. Of course you all did. The people who read this blog are smart, independent, thinkers who rely on no-one for anything and get their shit done all by themselves. You don't need someone to remind you that there may be adult content in every posting and so you need to make sure that your little ones (much as I would love to have their input) don't have access to this page.
That being said, I proceed. I suppose I should begin by telling you all a bit about myself. Well, I was born and raised in South Africa to a domineering bitch of a mother and a weak, puerile, spineless male who insists upon referring to himself as my father although he would never measure up to anyone's definition of the word. In short, I taught myself how to be a man.
Alright enough about that - on to important matters. What makes a man? Is it his moral fortitude, or his ability to be adaptable in the face of adversity? Is it sharing his feelings with those closest to him or an ability to suppress those feelings and not allow them to control him?
There are those who insist that "Real men love Jesus" - yeah they're usually trying to hook up with him via Craigslist personals while their wife and kids are out of town. I am not claiming to be close to perfect here and I have no true religion (although I have called myself a Satanist and a Christian at different times in my life). Some people would say that because of my lack of a deity I have no real moral compass. To those I say: Jim Bakker, Tammy Fae Bakker, Paul Crouch, Jimmy Swaggart, George W Bush . . . . shall I continue? You've got it - all born again christians.
Religion and it's proponents are responsible for more evil than any Humanist or Satanist could ever conceive. I don't want to go off on a rant here so I'll limit my organized religion bashing to that.
I have a moral compass and as anyone who really knows me will tell you, a pretty strong one. I have found that most real men don't have the artificially installed one provided by religion. Rather they have the genuine model - the one that is self installed, constantly updated and most reliable. The real men that I have known don't need someone to tell them that having sex with someone other than their partner is wrong or that killing an animal for sport is wrong. These men accept people in spite of their faults. They genuinely care enough about people to inspire them to be better people, yet draw the line when the association becomes detrimental to either their families or themselves.
As is implied by the title, this is the foundation of my blog - its just the beginning friends. My intention is to slowly establish a set of principles by which we all can live and with your help and input I think it just might be possible.
I apologize if things seem a little disjointed or if I randomize a bit. My mind works a lot faster than I can type and so I am trying to stay ahead of the game and get all the important points down.
I will make this promise to all of you though - I'll get better.
If you have any comments please post them, however please try to limit responses to the "moral compass" subject.

Well stated sir. A man is not a man by having testicles. A male only becomes a man when he understands how to use those balls for something aside from procreation. The fact that you subscribe to no organized religion also makes you more of a man. There is nothing to use as a scapegoat. "I did that because my religion says it's okay" or thoughts of the sort make you less of a "man". Stand up and be counted. As long as you continue to be A Man, and not "The Man", all will go well..lol.
